Classic & Vintage Trucks

We’ve come a long way from the early days of transportation to the modern marvel of today’s fleets. To celebrate historic trucking milestones over the decades, classic and vintage truck enthusiasts from around New Zealand are making their way to THE Expo where their heritage vehicles will be displayed for visitors of all ages to enjoy.

This amazing collection of classics has been coordinated with the assistance of the Northern Classic Commercials Club. The display includes vehicles proudly owned by club members of the Northern Classic Commercials Club and from other classic vehicle clubs around New Zealand.

Each displayed classic and vintage vehicle is eligible to enter and compete in the Classic category of the Show ‘n’ Shine competition, held on Saturday 4 March. These beauties have miles on the clock and stories by the dozen. Make sure you head to the Classic & Vintage Trucks display to check out the best vehicles of yesteryear.

Show n' Shine Competition

Saturday at THE Expo sees the return of the ever popular Show n’ Shine competition. Featuring an impressive line-up of trucks from tippers to tankers and all rig-types in between, this competition gives truck drivers the opportunity to showcase their vehicle in all its glory. If you wish to enter, click here.

With personalised artwork, dazzling light systems, highly polished chrome, pristine paint jobs and slick curtain sides, the Show n’ Shine is the place to be if you love trucks.

We know there are challenges to maintaining a hard-working truck and to keeping it in mint condition. In recognition of the effort involved and the pride truck drivers have for their vehicles, the judging will consider presentation of the vehicle, truck ‘personality’, and special features.

The competition is fierce as each category fights for the honours of best rig. Appealing prizes are up for grabs and there’s a People’s Choice Award too. Head to the Show n’ Shine area to check out the display, vote for your favourite and cheer on the winners. Prize giving will be held in the Show n’ Shine area at 3pm on Saturday 4 March.
